I’m in New London, Wisconsin, working remotely and trying to build useful things without taking any of it too seriously.
What I’m working on
Most of my work is in Laravel right now, especially its new AI tooling. I’m building a platform that coordinates specialized agents and a long-running email workflow across several business systems.
The satisfying part isn’t getting a demo to work; it’s making products that meaningfully save time and improve the human experience.
Things I’m tinkering with
I’m also figuring out where coding agents are genuinely useful and where they’re just making more code to review. Right now I am pretty firmly in the “read the code” camp (tho I fully admit this may change in the future). My current setup includes Claude Code and OpenCode, including repository context, specialized skills, MCP integrations, and trying to coerce agents to do what I want .
In my off time, I’m working on a meal-planning app which agentically makes grocery store orders for you, a private coaching agent that turns my X activity into useful feedback, and a multiplayer chess experiment (very WIP) that uses Cloudflare Durable Objects. Apparently, my idea of taking a break from software is writing different software. I’ll collect the occasional technical note or odd little project on this site.
At home
My wife and I live on eight acres with horses and two dogs. We’ve also spent a lot of time remodeling our home built in 1911. More than a century has given it plenty of time to come up with projects for us.
New guitar
I recently picked up a Martin D-35 50th Anniversary Edition. I use it to play on Sundays at my local church. I’m really proud of it and love the sound it makes. Ask me sometime how God blessed me with this instrument; it’s a cool story.

The general direction
I’m still partial to boring (maybe a better word is reliable) tools, clear architecture, good tests, and systems the next person can understand.
My Christian faith anchors how I understand life and work. I trust in God’s grace through faith and try to do the work in front of me faithfully.
